About the Role
Reporting to the Director of HR, this position is responsible for driving key HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, and employee relations.
This role is suitable for someone who is comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and can handle making difficult decisions, or managing multiple priorities. Strong project management skills and a proactive mindset are required.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Recruitment, Onboarding, Development, and Retention:
· Oversee full cycle recruitment in collaboration with the department hiring lead to ensure a smooth selection process and manage the applicant pipeline.
· Manage new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
· Participate in career events and job fairs to attract qualified candidates.
· Conduct exit interviews and provide insights for improving employee retention.
Benefits, including 401K administration, and Payroll Administration:
· Process payroll, benefits distribution, and employee deductions.
· Act as the primary contact for benefits-related inquiries.
· Evaluate and recommend enhancements to benefits offerings to ensure competitiveness in the market.
· Partner with benefits providers, brokers, and third-party administrators to manage costs, renewals, and compliance.
· Lead benefits open enrollment, ensuring effective communication and smooth execution.
· Ensure compliance with benefits-related regulations.
· Process monthly billings from insurance providers, review for accuracy, and resolve discrepancies as needed.
· Administer 401(k) plan, including employee enrollments, contribution changes, compliance testing, and coordination with plan providers.
Worker’s Compensation Claim Management
· Serve as the primary contact for all worker’s compensation claims and coordinate communication between the employee, insurance carrier, and medical providers.
· File and track workers’ compensation claims in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with state and federal regulations.
· Maintain detailed records of claims, medical reports, and return-to-work documentation.
· Monitor claims progress and follow up regularly to ensure timely resolution and appropriate care.
· Collaborate with supervisors and managers to conduct incident investigations and identify corrective actions.
· Support employees through the claims process by providing guidance and answering questions about benefits, rights, and procedures.
· Coordinate return-to-work plans, including light duty or modified assignments, in alignment with medical restrictions.
· Review claim history and trends to identify opportunities for workplace safety improvements and cost control.
· Ensure compliance with OSHA reporting and documentation requirements.
Personnel Management:
· In partnership with the Director, research, develop, write, update, and communicate policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; enforce organizational values.
· Provide consistent and detailed performance feedback to direct reports.
· Conduct annual performance appraisals and bi-annual check-ins with direct reports.
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
· 5+ years of HR experience, including talent acquisition, benefits administration, employee development, and compliance.
· 5+ years of supervisory and/or leadership experience.
· Experience working with insurance brokers and providers.
· Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws.
· Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
· Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
