Job Summary:
The Safety and Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of safety, compliance, and regulatory programs across the organization. This role ensures that company operations adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, industry standards, and internal policies. The Specialist works collaboratively with teams to promote a safe work environment, conduct audits, and maintain accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Program Administration:
• Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of workplace safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for employees and management.
• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
Regulatory Compliance:
• Monitor and stay up to date on OSHA and other relevant regulations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety and environmental standards across all facilities.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of compliance reports to regulatory agencies.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, training sessions, and compliance activities.
• Develop and update safety manuals, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
• Track safety metrics and create reports for management to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Collaboration and Support:
• Work closely with the Safety and Compliance Manager to align departmental goals with organizational objectives.
• Collaborate with operations teams to address safety concerns and implement corrective measures.
• Participate in cross-departmental meetings and initiatives to ensure alignment with compliance programs.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in safety and compliance, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, or service industries.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and other safety and environmental regulations.
• Experience conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for training and reporting purposes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and safety management software.
Work Environment:
• Combination of office and fieldwork environments, with regular visits to various locations.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work in outdoor or industrial environments as needed.
• Flexibility to travel occasionally to support compliance audits and training at other locations.
